Emily, Jon, Owen and Fenway – thanks so much for choosing me to photograph your family’s Christmas picture. It was so great to meet Owen and hang out with the little guy. He is such a happy, happy baby and that made it so easy to capture these photos for you. Here is a belated post on the DeBenedictis Family. It was Sue’s birthday recently and for her present she wanted her family to have an updated picture taken. She contacted me a few months prior and set it up for the weekend after Thanksgiving. Her son would be home from NJ so it would work out perfectly to meet up at Dane St. Beach. Originally the photos were supposed to be at Endicott Park in Danvers (I have yet to shoot there so if anyone ever wants to do a shoot there – let me know!) but her daughter Julia was watching an adorable little baby who lived close by so this spot was chosen so she could walk over to meet us. I was glad to shoot at Dane St. though, their outfits worked perfectly with the scenery and you get a little bit of park and a little bit of the ocean all in one

Sue – thank you to you and your family for choosing me to take your family portrait. It was so good to see you and meet your kids and husband Al. I hope you were happy with your birthday present I love the prints you ordered, especially the one of you and your hubby. One of my favorites I have taken of a couple! Emily and I met years ago at a company located in Beverly. We became very fast friends over prank calling people within the office and then blasting NKOBT “I’ll be loving you forever” to them over the phone, to putting our hair in side ponytails and dancing in our chairs to 80′s music. Needless to say we probably didn’t get a lot of work done but we had a ton of fun while there! I was lucky enough to have a great co-worker to laugh with and even more so to get a very close friend out of it too. I think to this day we still wish we worked side by side with one another

Through the years we’ve remained close; I was in her wedding to the love of her life Anthony, had a special dinner date with the two of them to find out they were expecting, and got to be the 2nd “auntie” up at the hospital to see Miss Addison Marie two hours after she was born. My gift to Emily and Anthony at her baby shower was a newborn portrait session once the little one arrived. A week after she got home I headed to her home to spend some time with the new family and get Addison’s first glamor shots. She didn’t care to sleep that much and quickly showed me she who ruled the house. That’s perfectly fine Addison – that’s what princesses are supposed to do

Emily and Anthony – I can’t even begin to say how happy I am for the two of you to finally have this little love in your lives. I know you waited patiently for her and I’m glad she arrived perfect and healthy and most of all into the most loving home that you will provide her. Congrats to the both of you! I can’t wait to come out again and snuggle with her. xoxo Auntie Erinn

When I showed up at her house we did the standard senior pics to get them out of the way and then I asked her if she found a spot to do the other shots. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was to hear about the place she had picked out!!! She said it was an old abandoned warehouse where they used to fix trains for the B&M Railroad all the way back in the early 1900′s. I immediately said get your stuff we are going there and off we went. We arrived at Iron Horse Park about 20mins away from her house. There are some businesses that still operate within the industrial park so we casually drove through the lot and headed to the massive brick building at the far end. We may have overlooked the No Trespassing signs and went through a straggly bush to climb into a poorly boarded up door. Upon entering, you were greeted with the always pleasant smell of must. I climbed over some tires and scattered wood and was completely awe struck over the size of the building, the condition it was left in, and all the machinery/records/equipment just left behind. It honestly looked like all the former employees were sucked up into space never to be found again, because everything was just quickly and hastily left behind.

Casey and I went up stairs littered with paper, climbed onto ripped down metal fences, sat on sad office chairs, and made our way outside to old train tracks leading into over-grown brush – of course all done for the perfect shot! It was sooooo great to do such a fun, funky, gritty senior portrait shoot in such an awesome location.

Casey – thank you so much for having me come take your senior portraits and introducing me to your very cool hang out spot Iron Horse Park. So glad I got to hang out with you and explore; all while getting some kick-ass senior pics, if I must say so myself. You were great to shoot and I can’t wait to take another trip back out there in the Spring! Will def let you know so you can join me for some exploring

the lighting was amazing when we were there!

My dad got my mom another angel reading with Francine this past Nov. (you can only visit once a year) and when Francine emailed me to confirm her appointment she asked if I would like to take some photos of her grandson and pups. Of course I said yes!!! I met up with Francine, Mikey and the dogs on a Saturday…a bit windy but the sun was out. We headed down to a little beach in Gloucester called Half Moon. Emma and Momo were soooo excited to be at the beach that they just wanted to run around in the sand for a bit. We let them burn off some energy while Mikey picked out some spots for picture taking.

Francine – thank you for choosing me to take your Christmas cards. I’m sure you encounter hundreds of people in your line of work and I am honored and thankful that it was me who got to be the lucky photographer. It was very nice to meet Mikey and Momo and Emma are just so darn cute. Can’t wait to see you for my reading in March! xx – Erinn

Kristina, Rick, Ava and Gavin – thank you for having me come out and get some pictures of your beautiful family. K – it was so good to catch up with you again. Miss the ring shopping with you in Boston and the sharing of pretty wedding things online. You look so, so happy with your family. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! Hope it doesn’t take another year for me to see you all again!

I met up with her daughter-in-law Margaret and the boys down at Lynch Park a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit breezy but the sun was warm so the kids were comfortable with no jackets. They had fun exploring the Rose Garden and pointing out kites that were flying in the air. We even headed down to the beach for a bit for them to find some seashells and run around like mad men to release some energy.

Sharon, Margaret, and the boys – I am so glad you guys got to win the raffle prize and I was finally able to take their pictures. They are too cute and I had a great time hanging out with them. Sorry to hear Adri couldn’t make it but we will have to definitely set a date for Mason xx Erinn

 

I gave Angela a few location options and she decided to go with Long Hill after viewing recent pictures from the Cushman/Gallagher and Harmon family shoots. It was a beautiful day for the month of November. No coats needed at all. Ella and Jacked loved exploring the grounds up there. They would eagerly run around letting me know where the next picture should be taken. Unlike how I’m sure my brother and I behaved when we were Ella (7) and Jack’s (4) age, these two got along great. No bribery to get them to hug one another or pose together. They just happily moved from shot to shot, always with big smiles.

Angela, Matt, Ella and Jack – thank yo so much for hanging out with me and letting me take your picture. Jack – you are quite the character and kept me laughing. Ella – thanks for being such a good listener! Angela- thank you for deciding to go a different route this year and have me be the lucky photographer to shoot your family portraits. I hope next year we are able to do it all again!

I met Ben when he was a month old and took some pictures of him to get some newborn photography practice. It was good to see him over a year later….now walking and talking but still with a great personality. He must get his sense of humor from his mother because he had me laughing all day…pretty much like Becky used to do at Ralph’s. The first stop for pictures was a huuuuge tree on the grounds. Perfect for picture taking. Ben called it a biggie tree and continued to pat it, alternating between saying “it hurts (where the bark was sharp) or soft biggie tree”. Then we went off and saw a sleeping frog (quite possibly sleeping forever), a big huskie he decided to name Nate, and various statues he had to say hello to. He was highly amusing and so easy to take pictures of. He would put every ounce of his body into making a big cheese smile, which by the way is absolutely adorable. Can’t wait for you to see for yourselves!

Becky, Andrew and Ben – thank you for letting me capture your family portraits. I had the best time hanging out with the three of you. Ben seriously kept me smiling the whole time and I can see how much joy he brings to your lives. He really was the perfect little model to have. I hope to see you guys again…maybe at another road race if I can get myself off the couch xx – erinn

 

So on Oct. 2nd I made my way over to Danversport Yacht Club to meet Trish and her husband for the first time. I can’t even begin to say how comfortable I felt after meeting Trish, Paul and family members. They were so inviting and friendly and just nice nice people. It was so sweet to watch Paul and his children try to calm Trish’s nerves before the ceremony. To see the bond Trish had formed with Paul’s two children, Owen and Mackenzie, was really something special. By looking at how sincere and kind they were to one another you would think she had been their mother their whole lives. It was just all so natural. I think the most touching part was during the ceremony when Mackenzie started to tear up during her dad and Trish’s vows (image below and it’s one of my favorites). She told me after that she always cries after she sees Trish cry. So cute!

Trish and Paul – thank you so much for trusting me, a girl you just met to photograph your big day. It truly was beautiful wedding and I am so happy for the both of you. I wish you many, many years of happiness!
